By the headlines you would think the Senate is considering insider trading laws for Wall Street. Nope. After a news program exposed insider trading by members of Congress, they are trying to pass a bill to stop it. If you are thinking what does insider trading have to do with the Congress, think again. There are many laws and potential changes in laws that effect companies greatly. Members of Congress have been trading on this information. Pretty sweet for them. For the public, not so sweet. Think of cable companies, power companies, medical companies, etc that need "special attention" from Congress. That special attention gets them insider information that they trade on. Would our elected officials really pass laws that they could turn around and make huge profits from? That's exactly what happens. We will follow this and see if anything passes. One thing we know, we have the best government money can buy!
